I got up at the break of dawn. Traces of shimmering luminescence were only just beginning to reflect around the expansive shaded glass corridors and hallways of a city which seemed far removed from contemporary architecture; like a giant ball of glass had seeped over and throughout the old Victorian buildings which now remain fixed in place like a skeleton. I was standing in a tacky souvenir shop in Newcastle perusing its shelves to burn some time. Despite the stagnant weather and the gaudy ornaments populating the shelves, the store had somehow managed to pull a substantial crowd today. Staring down into an abyss of ring-like structures. Just realized I hardly ever use the Julia function so I thought it was worth a shot. Started with a standard Mandelbulb and fiddled with the power value until it began to form something interesting.
