A strangely familiar yet alien world. I always find it a pleasant surprise when Mandelbulber produces a strangely organic scene. Mind you this was purely a fluke but it does look somewhat like a landscape render done in a 3d package. A simple Mandelbox with some slight rotation and scale tweaks. The color sampling for this image just came from the standard random gradient ramp.

wow! That really reminds me of a place in Idaho called Craters of the moon. It's a giant field of volcanic caves and I imagine it would look much like this if it were covered in algae.
